How soon will my order be shipped?

If you ordered a Local Yokel, Fertileroot or Buffalo Johnson brand item (the stuff we make and ship from our own place) you can expect your order to be shipped (put in a box and taken to the post office) within 48 hours, if the stuff you ordered is in stock. If anything you ordered isn't in stock, we will send you an email letting you know that and telling you when you can expect it to be available. Now, in truth, we usually get orders boxed up and out the door a little faster than what we indicated above. But, just to be on the safe side we're saying 48 hours, give or take a little.

The above paragraph applies to all other cool stuff in our shop. Things like body lotion, Kissin' Sticks, automotive stuff, fish soap and the like.

Items that have to be sewn or are personalized are a different matter. Things like sweatshirts and hoodies that have to be sewn will require around 10 days to make before they can be shipped. This is noted on the product pages of the website where these items are shown.

If you ordered a shirt manufactured by someone other than us that is shipped directly from the manufacturer, we don't ship that stuff at all--the manufacturer does. The same is true for Sleeping Bean Body Pillows. We have an agreement with the manufacturers that says they will ship out merchandise to our customers within 2 days. Read the previous sentence again---it doesn't say that you will receive the merchandise within 2 days. It says that it will be shipped (you know, put in a box and given to the mailman or the UPS driver) within 2 days.

Priority Mail is normally delivered by the U.S. Postal Service within 2 to 3 business days. Please note that "business days" do not include Sundays or holidays. Also, you should realize that the U.S. Postal Service does not guarantee any specific delivery time for Priority Mail. It doesn't have to. It's part of the government.

Express Mail is normally delivered by the U.S. Postal Service overnight (except Sundays and holidays). However, if you live in some out-of-the-way place (like Nevada), it may take 2 days for your package to be delivered.

As for packages shipped outside the United States via Airmail Letter Post, Global Priority Mail or Global Express Mail, when it will be delivered is anybody's guess. The actual delivery is performed by the postal folks in the destination country, so we can't really say how quickly they will do their jobs. Also, your package might be held up by customs in your country. From time to time packages we ship overseas are held up a few days by customs officials who want to collect a little import duty. Payment of any applicable import duty is the customer's responsibility.

I haven't received my order yet, so why has my credit card been charged?

When you place an order online your credit card information is securely transmitted through a gateway to Visa, Mastercard or American Express for authorization. If the transaction is authorized the charge is immediately applied to your credit card account. By immediately transmitting your card information to your credit card issuer we are able to better insure the security of your credit card information. It is not stored on our server even for a second.

If for any reason we are unable to promptly ship your order and a refund or credit is in order, we will initiate another transaction directly with our credit card processing bank to issue your refund or credit.

I do not live in the United States. Why can't I purchase merchandise from you?

We accept orders from people in countries all around the globe, and we ship to most of the places that the United States Postal Service allows. However, we do make some exceptions.

We do not ship merchandise to Nigeria or other such places where placing fraudulent online orders has become a cottage industry. Further, if the American goverment says that your's is an "Axis of Evil" country or some third world outfit that consorts with terrorists, we won't ship merchandise there either.

In short, if you live in a country that is principally populated by good folks, we'll be happy to receive your order.

I do live in the United States, but you still won't ship my order. Why?

Well, it's like this. If your credit card has been declined or your check bounced, we just can't send you the stuff you ordered. We know this may be inconvenient for you, and we're sorry for that.

What is your return policy?

We will be happy to exchange or issue a store credit for any merchandise for which an Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is requested and which is returned to us in original condition as set out below.

No returns will be accepted on made-to-order, custom made or personalized items.


If you wish to return an item to us for exchange or store credit you must request an RMA Number within 15 days of your receipt of the merchandise and return the merchandise within 10 days after an RMA Number has been issued to you. Merchandise returned without a valid, unexpired RMA number on the outside of the box will be refused or returned to you. We do not refund shipping charges except in the case of defective merchandise. We cannot refund overnight express or 2nd day delivery charges. Sorry, no C.O.D.'s or call tags. We cannot accept returns or exchanges on custom made or personalized items.

Returns & Exchanges Procedures:

  • All returns must be accompanied by a valid, unexpired Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
  • You may request an RMA Number online by visiting our website and clicking on the "My Account" tab. On your personal account page you will find a like to the RMA Request page.
  • Your request will be processed as quickly as possible, and an RMA number will be emailed to you at the email address you provide. (Note: We will not be responsible for email sent to you that is blocked by email filtering software deployed either by your ISP or on your own computer.)
  • For your return or exchange to be processed properly you must write the RMA number clearly on the front of your returned package. Packages received without an RMA number cannot be processed.
  • All returned merchandise must be clean and in original condition.
  • Store credits and exchanges will not be made for merchandise that has been damaged by the customer through abuse or improperly laundering.

 

I own a retail shop and would like to carry your merchandise in my store. How can I purchase from you at wholesale pricing?

If you really, really, truly own a retail store (one that has a sign, a front door and lots of stuff inside where lots of people from the general public come to buy what you have to sell) we will be pleased to get your phone call about wholesale pricing. Local Yokel and Buffalo Johnson brand shirts and caps are (sometimes) available to legit resellers in the United States and a few foreign countries.

If you are one of those extremely rare people who manage to sell more out of the back of a panel truck on a street corner in Queens than The Gap sells in its stores, we will likely sell stuff to you at wholesale as well. But, you're going to have to convince us first. We're going to have to see real money (a bunch of it) before the first box of t-shirts goes out the door.

I sell t-shirts. Can you print some up with my designs?

In a word, no. Well, actually, we could, but we won't. It's just not something that we do.

Where can I find stores in my area that carry your merchandise?

Beats me. If you want to drop us email we'll be happy to tell you where you can find such a store if we know of one.

What gives with all the American Indian designs in the store?

American Indians are hot! Indians have always been hot, and that's why we carry quite a bit of American Indian stuff in our store. The other reason, of course, is that Local Yokel is an American Indian owned brand.

Every item that is identified on our site as "American Indian Made" is printed, sewn or otherwise decorated by a real, live, tribal-membership-card-carrying American Indian--just as is required by the Native American Arts And Crafts Act, a federal law that says what can and what can't be sold as "Indian Made". The owner of our business is an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, as is everyone else who works on our "Indian Made" products.

I saw some Christian shirts on your site. What's up with that?

We aren't very politically correct here. First of all, we're Indians. What could be more politically incorrect than that? Secondly, there aren't any goofy, touchy feely, creepy New Age Indians 'round here. We're intolerant savages and don't have much use for such goofballs. Thirdly, we're Christian, and this is our site. We figure that entitles us to put Christian t-shirts on our site if we want to, and we do. If you are offended by Christian t-shirts or just don't like them, we're okay with that.
